Baseball integration affected all people of color who wanted to play baseball and were being denied that right. It affected primarily African American individuals who were not allowed to play because of their recent status as slaves. This began in 1878 and still affects baseball today. Baseball integration is an example of a right and a responsibility because it is a responsibility of people to have open opportunity for anything. Any person should have the right to play baseball if they desire too and race or skin color should have no interference with that. This challenges human equality and violates the rights of those African American individuals formerly freed from slavery.
